We are thrilled to share the outstanding success of our final-year ICAEW student, Robert Lay, who has recently been honored with a prestigious prize at the ICAEW awards. Join us as we delve into his journey, achievements, and the dedication that led to this remarkable accomplishment.

I am a trainee and apprentice at Whitley Stimpson Ltd in the Banbury office. I’m involved in a variety of accountancy and tax work, where I put all my studies into practice.

Robert's hands-on experience at Whitley Stimpson Ltd allows him to apply the theoretical knowledge he gains through his studies to real-world scenarios, making his learning experience both comprehensive and practical.

I was truly delighted to receive this award, which is for the joint sixth highest average scores across all the certificate papers in 2022. There were six certificate level exams, three of which I studied independently before attending Reed to study for the three remaining.

His dedication to his studies is evident, having tackled three exams on his own before seeking the expert guidance at Reed Business School for the remaining papers.

I have been very impressed by the tutors’ knowledge and expertise, and their ability to discuss and explain topics from different perspectives, when I have struggled to understand them initially. The administrative, catering and maintenance staff at Reed are also highly commendable, they are dedicated to facilitating the best learning environment possible.

Robert highlights the supportive learning environment at Reed, where tutors go above and beyond to ensure students grasp complex topics, complemented by the efforts of the administrative and support staff.

My apprenticeship learning coach from Reed has really helped me to build my confidence in the workplace and guided me carefully through the preparations for the end point assessment requirements.

The mentorship and guidance from his apprenticeship learning coach have been instrumental in boosting Robert's confidence and ensuring he meets all the end-point assessment requirements.

For Robert to be named an ICAEW prize winner is an amazing achievement. We are very proud of the hard work and dedication Robert puts into his studies and delighted this has been rewarded with such outstanding exam success. We are privileged to have him as part of our team and wish him every success in his future career and development with us, said Ian Parker, Director at Whitley Stimpson.

Ian Parker, Director at Whitley Stimpson, expresses the company's pride and satisfaction with Robert's remarkable achievement, acknowledging his dedication and the promising future that lies ahead for him.
