4th-8th March 2019 in the UK was National Apprenticeship Week. Thousands of businesses and apprentices took to social media to share their stories using #NAW2019. At Reed, our own apprentices followed suit; posting photos and videos about their favourite aspects of the Apprenticeship Programme at Reed Specialist Recruitment.

Co-Members posted their stories on LinkedIn under the hashtag #StartAtREED – Make sure to follow the hashtag on LinkedIn and Twitter to keep up to date with our Early Talent news.

Things we learned…

From watching and reading posts from our apprentices across the business we learned a few things about what they love about Life at Reed and the Apprenticeship Programme…

1. It’s a great way to get qualified

Whether you’re a school leaver, worked in other industries, or are a university graduate, you could still be enrolled as an apprentice when starting at Reed. All new starters receive world-class training from our in-house team and everyone has the opportunity to achieve industry-recognised qualifications. Click the image to find out more about the qualifications – and how we celebrate them!

2. Support on your journey – regardless of background

The Apprenticeship Programme is filled with a diverse range of people. Whatever your route in to Reed, you are guaranteed to receive support in a multitude of ways, including you own line manager, your immediate team, the Apprenticeship Team, Learning and Development team, and depending on your entry route and own choices; the Early Talent team and a personal mentor.

When I started at REED I was given the opportunity to join the Apprentice Scheme , which has really helped me learn and develop as a Recruiter , fantastic opportunity to learn amongst the best people! Am I the oldest apprentice in Reed ??? Well a lady never discloses her age so you decide!

3. Compared to other apprenticeship programmes, opportunities for career progression and high earnings are exceptionally strong…

Recruitment is a very target-driven industry. It also a meritocratic one, meaning results are rewarded. Reed Specialist Recruitment offers all co-members a Career Development Framework which outlines target requirements which, if met, most commonly result in a promotion and a salary increase.

Consultancy roles at Reed also include structured, uncapped bonuses based on performance, and apprentices are incentivised further for passing various checkpoints on the Apprenticeship Programme.

As an example of the earning potential on the Apprenticeship, Co-Member Hannah Russell said,

“I will be forever grateful to Tom Crouch and Grant Rigler for taking a chance on me 9 months ago, having no office experience, but a passion to learn and build a career. This month I was able to buy a car, something I thought I would be saving for for a lot longer!”
