Lots of our colleagues jumped at the opportunity to share their tales; you can view all the LinkedIn posts here: #StartAtREED.

With too many stories to share, here’s a few highlights showing what we’ve learned about our colleagues’ journeys at REED!

REED retains its staff

Executive Business Manager Maggie Wilkinson started with REED almost twenty years ago in 1999, moving in to recruitment from the hospitality sector:

“I’ve worked with some amazing people over the last 19 years and enjoyed first class training and development.”

It’s been 10 years for both Lisa Hooper and Jeremy Conroy at REED.

Lisa began at Reed in Partnership over 10 years ago and has remained in the REED group, now working as an Account Manager on REED’s contract with the London Borough of Lewisham Council.

Jeremy’s 10 years has led him to his current role as Area Sales Manager, but in his own post he highlights that it’s the additional benefits that he has found most rewarding at REED.

“I have been given loads of opportunities by Reed, they’ve paid for my snowboarding lessons, refreshed my PADI licence, led a team of managers walking in the Lake District and been paid to go to Austria to develop my management skills in 6ft of snow.”

Tak Li, now a Senior Talent Sourcing Advisor joined REED in 2002 fresh out of University as an HR & Training Coordinator – he still has his first company badge!

Hard Work Pays Off with Progression & Recognition

Katie Smith joined the REED Graduate Training Scheme in 2013 as a Sales Executive for reed.co.uk before progressing up to manage the Graduate Training Scheme herself and then moving up to her current position as Group Head of Property – all in under 5 years!

Victoria Clayton from our Manchester office is one of the newest faces in Reed Engineering (starting in June 2018) but has already fallen in love with the company, citing a few of her favourite things to date as:

  • Achieving the highest billing period in my team for P2

  • Meeting Sir Alec Reed at REED Business School

  • Creating great relationships with my peers, resulting in them voting me for a ‘Best Humour Award'

We Love the Reed Business School!

One location featured more than anywhere else on our Co-Members’ posts – the Reed Business School, and why wouldn’t it?! The Business School, affectionately known by colleagues as ‘The Manor’ is a beautiful historic building in the heart of the Cotswolds and has been used by REED as a training venue since 1972.

All training for new starters at REED is delivered in house by our dedicated Learning and Development team.

We also learned that our Co-Members love a group photo – especially those on the Graduate Training Scheme and Undergraduate Placement Year!
